Well after a week or so I am posting my initial reaction to using it. I made my first contact in DMR to a fellow in the UK on WW91. Unfortunately the only thing to talk about is either the weather or DMR stuff. Most of the time I just hear kerchunks, most likely due to most using repeaters and nodes that need to transmit to connect or disconnect.

In the end I guess I would rather take part in local discussions with people I have some history with. But I am still very happy with the Radio. Much stronger pickup and everyone says it sounds so much better than the Baofeng. I will give DMR a fair shot and see how it goes. But for now I am a little disappointed I think.
